I was invited to moderate the Citizens’ Forum with German Foreign Minister Dr. Johann Wadephul at the German Federal Foreign Office in Berlin.
During this open dialogue with the Minister and a full house of interested citizens we covered a broad range of topics. In times of the world in upheaval driven by conflicts, crises and wars in different parts around the globe, we of course spoke about some of the most pressing topics including the wars in Ukraine, Gaza, Iran, all the way to Sudan, Cuba and Venezuela.
We spoke about the critical importance of a strong Europe, the role of strong partnerships and new agreements with countries around the world including India, Australia or the Mercosur countries, as well as the role of humanitarian aid as a cornerstone of foreign policy. And we covered many more topics that you can watch in the recordings of the dialogue on the youtube channel of the German Federal Foreign Office.
Dialogues like these are at the core of democracy and a highly valuable good not to be taken for granted. A big thanks to Minister Wadephul and the team at the Auswärtiges Amt (Federal Foreign Office) for the trust and this opportunity.
