Two days full of impact, with topics ranging from circular economy and robotics, the role of banks in the sustainable transformation, all the way to the importance of biodiversity and our oceans. I was moderating this year’s Impact Festival, which was full of thought-provoking discussions. A definite highlight was a panel with Klara Geywitz (Minister of Housing, Urban Development and Construction of Germany) and Prof. Hans Joachim Schellnhuber (Founder of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and one of the leading climate researchers on this planet), reflecting on how to redesign the built environment and the way we live.
Political economist and transformation researcher Prof. Maja Göpel elaborated on the big question of how to shift paradigms in a period of polycrises and multiple transformations. And certainly another highlight was the discussion with Dr. med. Eckart von Hirschhausen who like no other can convey powerful messages in a pretty straightforward and at the same time fun and entertaining way.
